WEST DES MOINES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Come as you are. We honor and welcome the diversity you bring.
Please pray this prayer each day
God, you give us life. When we might give up or give in, you refresh our lives. When we wonder or worry about the way ahead, you sustain us with life-giving wisdom. May the plans we make today be our way of saying thank you. May our work bring life-giving grace to others. The world so desperately needs the life you offer. Amen.
Our church is participating in Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity 2020 Thrivent Faith Build Friday, October 2nd, and Saturday, October 3rd. The Thrivent Faith Build is a partnership between Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity which began in 2005. This year’s Faith Build will be for Miriam and her 4 boys.

Hello friends, In our August sermon series, we are headed to the mountains. Wouldn’t we all like to be driving through the mountains about now! We never have enough words to describe God or life for that matter so we use metaphors. A mountain is a metaphor for the...
Dear God, I knew you would use this time of pandemic to teach us more about you and faith and living. I knew the lessons were on the way, but it has taken time for me to be open to receive them. In the first few weeks, I was in shock. I was scrambling to grab on to...
