After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary go to Jesus’ tomb. A great earthquake occurs, and an angel rolls away the stone, revealing that Jesus has risen. The guards are terrified. The angel tells the women not to be afraid and instructs them to tell the disciples that Jesus is alive and will meet them in Galilee. As they go, Jesus appears to them, and they worship Him. He reassures them and repeats the instruction to tell the disciples.
The eleven disciples meet Jesus in Galilee on a mountain. When they see Him, they worship Him, though some still doubt. Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. He commands them to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey His teachings. He promises to be with them always, to the very end of the age.
