Jesus gave us an incredible gie when he broke bread, blessed it, and handed it to his disciples. He used something as simple as bread to express his love for us. On Oct. 4, we will join with people of faith throughout the world and celebrate World Communion Sunday. We will remember Jesus as we share bread. We will be delivering bread to some of the “mature” saints of our church. Our Children’s Team is delivering yeast to families and encouraging them to bake bread with their children. And everyone is invited to watch your mail for a postcard that will include a prayer and a recipe. Use the recipe to bake bread at your house. Use the prayer to bless the bread. Bake an extra loaf and take it to a neighbor. We pray, “give us this day our daily bread,” and God responds by giving us the Bread of Life that is Jesus Christ. Imagine a world where everyone has bread. Imagine it and make it happen! —Pastor Cindy
