 Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 4:00 pm – Thieben Family Trio Minimize

John, Jacob, & Laura Thieben will present a concert utilizing a most unusual combination of instruments.  Brother John plays the saxophone, while brother Jacob plays marimba, and wife Laura plays bassoon.  All three have advanced degrees on their instruments and have found unique repertoire to share with us on this concert.

 Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 4:00 pm – Central College Choirs and Mark Babcock, Conductor and Organist Minimize

No stranger to WDMUMC, Professor Mark Babcock has graced our organ bench in previous years.  He is back to play a partial organ recital along with his fabulous Central College Choirs.  As a master choral conductor and church musician, Professor Babcock is a leader in choral music as well as Organist at St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown Des Moines.

 Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 8:30 and 11:00 am – A Celebration in Jazz Minimize

The celebration continues the Sunday after Easter with a 5-piece combo from the Des Moines Big Band. Led by trumpeter Dave Rezek, this combo will play traditional jazz charts that will keep your toes tapping.  They will lead us in congregational singing as well as inspire us with their “up tempo” tunes before and during worship.
